Text Box: Angels of heaven, awaited her answer in the stillness of anticipation. When Mary said, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord: be it done to me according to thy word,” (Luke 1:38), when she said, “Yes,” the Angelic world rejoiced for at that instant the Messiah was conceived in the womb of the Ever Virgin Mary by the coming of the Holy Ghost and the overshadowing of the Most High.

This “overshadowing” is so mysterious that while we know this happened, we really have no idea as to what this “overshadowing” really and fully means.

Satan watched all these things in great anticipation, for he knew that with the coming of the Messiah his control over mankind would be broken. He wanted to kill the child before it was born, so from the beginning of his influence on mankind he taught mankind to have abortions, to kill as yet unborn children and offer them to himself on his altars, the altars of Baal. Satan instilled selfishness in kings and rulers, so that they opposed anyone who could possibly be a threat to their kingly power. Satan did not and to this day does not think of power as something to be used to benefit others - he thinks of it as something to be used to make the powerful feel powerful; something for the pleasure of the powerful.

So Satan followed the progress of the conception of Jesus Christ. When Satan saw Jesus being born in a manger, Satan could not reconcile such a humble birth as being proper for any manifestation of God. It just did not make sense to him.

But the Angels of Heaven knew this Child is God, the only-begotten Son of God, the Word Made Flesh, the Word by whom they themselves were created.

The Angels knew the fall of sin was at hand; that mankind was in the process of being redeemed; that evil was being conquered. This made all of heaven fill with joy and happiness, for the will of God was being fulfilled, and mankind was being enabled to join its proper place.
Text Box: In His birth in such a humble place, the Messiah told all of creation that power, authority, and ability exist to benefit, to do good, and not for the pleasure of the one wielding power, authority, and ability.

With this understanding of the coming of the Messiah we can comprehend the canticle which Zachary spoke at the birth of his son Saint John the Forerunner, the Baptist:

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel:
because he hath visited and wrought the redemption of his people.
And hath raised up an horn of salvation to us, in the house of David his servant.
As he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets, who are from the beginning.
Salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all that hate us.
To perform mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy testament.
The oath, which he swore to Abraham our father, that he would grant to us.
That being delivered from the hand of our enemies, we may serve him without fear:
In holiness and justice before him, all our days. (Luke 1:68)

Let us learn from our Saviour, and as He serves us, let us serve Him.

Text Box: SATAN AND EVIL WIN A BATTLE WITH EVERY ABORTION

The Holy Innocents is the name given to the some fourteen thousand babies murdered by Herod in his attempt to kill Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Throughout all of history, the murder of the Holy Innocents is one of the most blood thirsty and horrible events. But it is only an easily visible manifestation of the lust to inflict horrible death which evil has always manifested.

Throughout the history of the Jews, God constantly had His prophets tell the Jews to stop having abortions, and to stop forcing labor and then killing the just born babies on the altars of Baal. But the Jews paid God no heed, they did not obey Him, and they do not obey Him to this very day. But the Jews are not alone. So-called Christians have abortions in numbers so great as to make the doctors who kill the babies very rich. Ireland and Italy, two of the most Christian nations in the world, have recently legalized abortions. And in the United States, at least four million babies are killed by their mothers in abortion every year.

It is impossible to explain why people kill babies before they can be born. The horror is so great in killing the most defenseless in the most horrible manner possible, as to make it unimaginable. It sometimes seems that the only evil greater than abortion is the killing of Jesus and the refusal to honor and obey God - but then, an abortion is a refusal to honor and to obey God.

It is difficult to comprehend the evil that can kill, and even more difficult to comprehend the evil that kills a child or anyone who is unable to even attempt to protect themselves. It is impossible to comprehend the evil that kills children before they are even born.

Since the early days of the Church, The Holy Innocents have been honored immediately following the celebration Text Box:
