Nuevo Concepcione - The Archbishop's Residence and immediate grounds

These pictures are "stills" from a video recording.

Entering through the main gate, on the right one passes a statue of Saint Michael the Archangel, while just a little past the house is a fountain. The residence is entered through a large patio where much "sitting and talking" takes place.

There is some very beautiful art work in the living room. Some of it is a combination Aztec - Mayan with Christian influence. Note, none of the people are being sacrificed and God (or "gods") is being thanked for the abundance and the subsistence.

The hut in the back yard serves a multitude of purposes, not the least of which is to house the clothes washing machine.

One species of tree is a banana tree which looks like a palm tree. The trunk even grows rings like a palm tree.

For many years the only hot water was that which came from the water tank when the sun heated it. Since the water source is a well, the normal water temperature is in the upper fifty degree F area, making for very cold "hot" water. Electric water heaters at the shower heads now provide something slightly better.
