FOOD THAT HEART ATTACK AND BYPASS SURGERY PATIENTS MIGHT BE ABLE TO EAT AND LIKE!

I suffered multiple heart attacks (probably three) on December 27, 2001, underwent coronary bypass surgery on February 14, 2002, (the doctors wanted to do a triple bypass but only two of the arteries could be fond, the third had fused to the back of the heart), and underwent additional heart surgery on May 13, 2002, to repair a 3.5 cm hole which had developed in my heart and was allowing blood to be pumped into the pericardial sack (The pericardial sack had expanded to approximately 10 cm x 10 cm, which is about the size of a heart, and was receiving about 1/3 of the blood pumped with each heart beat, and would probably have ruptured in a few days. An artificial patch was grafted over the hole without stopping the heart from beating). These are my bona fides.

As a result, if some particular food item tasted good, it was forbidden, because I was on The Taste Good Diet - the diet where if something tastes good you are not allowed to eat it because food that tastes good is forbidden food . . . But who wants to eat food that tastes terrible?

I am on a low sodium, low cholesterol diet. I am not a physician, nor am I a dietitian, nor do I have any medical expertise. I am not diabetic, so I am not on a low sugar diet, so that should be considered and weighed in considering what is presented below.

What follows is a list of food items and combinations which seem to have some taste or are somewhat appetizing, yet I believe them to be within my diet. They may also be within your diet as well. Use at your own risk. Products may have changed between the time I put them here and the time you attempt to use them, so be forewarned.
