False Apparitions

Roman Catholicism seems to be experiencing a flood of apparitions and those claiming special knowledge of some of apparition situations. Obviously, the Theotokos has appeared at Damascus, for all the Bishops of Damascus have so stated; and this is the traditional "test" of the validity of an apparition: is it sanctioned by the local Bishop? If the local Bishop states that after investigation, it has been determined that the reported occurrence is false, then such is deemed the case. If the local Bishop states that after investigation it appears something is happening, then further investigation is made and if warranted, a position is taken on the occurrence.

As we obtain information sufficient to make comment on what has been deemed false apparitions, we will present the pertinent information here.
